Anyone wishing to apply for naturalisation as a UK citizen or permanent resident must pass the Life in the UK test. This is sometimes referred to as UK settlement or Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR).You can apply for British citizenship if you fulfil the normal prerequisites for naturalisation.Prior to scheduling the Life in the UK Test, consider training. spent 450 days or less outside of the UK over a five-year period.
During the previous 12 months, no more than 90 days were spent outside of the UK.
Indefinite leave to stay in the United Kingdom
had a 12-month period of indefinite leave to stay in the UK.
Having complied with all immigration regulations while in the UK
Once you are granted Indefinite Leave to Remain, you are typically free from all immigration limitations and can apply for the Life in the UK test and the B1 English test for citizenship 12 months later.
