Diplomas in Teaching

We believe that great teachers shape the future. We run our own designed teaching-learning courses as well as courses from awarding bodies such OTHM Level 3 and Level 5 diplomas in Teaching(once popularly own as DET) in partnership with other colleges as well. Our Teaching courses are designed to equip aspiring educators with the knowledge and skills with practical experience needed to thrive in today’s dynamic learning environments. With a curriculum rooted in educational theory and real-world classroom application, our diploma opens doors to a wide range of job opportunities both locally and internationally.

Graduates of our program are highly sought after by schools, training centres, and educational institutions. We prepare you if you are looking to enter the public or private education sector, explore international teaching roles, or pursue further academic qualifications.
The United Kingdom is the birthplace of teacher training. While it has a great history of developing education not only within the country, the United Kingdom has had great contributions to educating the whole world. Diplomas in teaching are highly demanding. The UK education authorities and bodies have taken great measures to further improve the qualities of professional programmes.

Teaching is a wide field. The very popular Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training(DET) has now been changed to the Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (DiT). It is an updated version of the Diploma in Education and Training (DET) in the UK, specifically for the Further Education and Skills sector. It’s a Level 5 qualification, and it replaces the DET, meaning that registrations for the older DET are no longer accepted by awarding bodies. The DiT focuses on equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to teach effectively in post-16 education settings.

Key Features of the DiT:

Replaces the DET:

The DiT is the new standard qualification for those teaching in the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector.

Level 5 Qualification:

It is a Level 5 qualification, indicating an advanced-level teaching qualification.

Focus on Contemporary Skills:

The DiT curriculum is designed to reflect the latest teaching methodologies, including digital and online pedagogies.

Practical Application:

It emphasises practical teaching experience and the application of learned skills in real-world settings.

Equips for QTLS:

The DiT is a pathway to achieving Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status, which is recognised in schools.

No Degree Needed (Potentially):

While some learners may progress to a degree program after completing the DiT, it is not a prerequisite for enrolling in the course, provided the learner has the necessary academic skills and teaching experience.

Core Units:
The DiT typically includes units on developing teaching, learning, and assessment strategies, understanding learners and learning, professional practice, and inclusive practice.

Observed Teaching Practice:

A significant component of the DiT involves observed teaching practice, with a minimum number of formal observations required.
